When humans get sick or hurt, they go to the doctor, discuss their symptoms and receive the appropriate care. With pets, it’s not always this simple. Because animals can’t speak, they can’t let us know when something is bothering them.
What’s more, many animals are able to mask the signs of illness, allowing it to develop and worsen undetected.
The veterinary diagnostics at Heartland Niagara Animal Hospital enable us to identify and treat health problems in a timely manner. Faster diagnosis of illness and injury can vastly improve the chances of a positive outcome.
Our on-site diagnostic lab makes it quick and efficient to run a wide variety of tests. In many cases, we can have results in just a few minutes. This means we can have a treatment strategy in place before you and your pet even leave the exam room.
When a physical exam and lab work aren’t enough to reach a definitive diagnosis, we turn to advanced imaging, including x-rays and ultrasound. These tools allow us to assess the bones and internal organs, identifying injuries, diagnosing illness and determining its severity.
Images can be evaluated in real-time by our team or shared electronically with specialists if necessary.
If your pet has been acting a bit out of sorts lately, don’t take chances. Give the caring crew at Heartland Niagara Animal Hospital a call right away. We’ll get to the bottom of the problem and get your best friend back on the path to good health again.
