Things Cats Take Very Seriously

March 15, 2016

Cats are definitely full of cute quirks and adorable mannerisms. Kitties have a way of putting smiles on our faces, even on the worst days. Our feline friends can be quite opinionated little furballs, however. In fact, there are some things cats definitely do not take lightly. Read on as a Thorold, ON vet lists some things cats take very seriously.

Even if you don’t adhere to the belief that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, your cat does. Every morning, people owned by cats are awakened to their pet’s nudges and smacks. When Fluffy wants breakfast, she wants it right meow!

First Impressions

You never get a second chance to make a first impression. This is definitely the case with cats! If you ever get a second feline, you’ll need to make introductions gradually and carefully. If two furballs get off to a bad start, it could take months to for them to move past it.

Territorial Boundaries

Your feline friend might usually be a sweet, lovable pet, but Fluffy can turn into a furry ball of rage at the mere sight of another cat walking across the lawn. Kitties do not take kindly to feline intruders!

Kitties certainly are sleepy little furballs. Your pet could spend as much as 20 hours a day napping, dozing, and, perhaps, dreaming about catching mice. Fluffy may move around from spot to spot for her morning, midmorning, noon, afternoon, and evening naps, before curling up next to you for the night.

Fluffy’s reputation for being aloof isn’t entirely fair: kitties can be very loyal and loving, and can get very attached to their owners. One thing we know: once you’ve made friends with a cat, you’ve got a friend for life!

Does your furry friend ever hop onto the bed to lend a helping paw when you’re changing the sheets? Do you ever find your kitty curled up in a basket of fresh laundry? Cats are very dedicated to helping out around the house!

If a moth, bat, or bird ever gets into your home, your feline friend won’t hesitate to come to your rescue. After all, kitties do have to defend their turf against unauthorized intruders!
